The continuing collaboration between
Omega and
Swatch has added another specific, whimsical chapter to its narrative with the release of the Mission to Earthphase Moonshine Gold Beaver Moon. This model is not merely a new colorway in the wildly popular Bioceramic MoonSwatch lineup; it represents a deepening of the collection's storytelling, blending astronomical complications, proprietary materials, and a heavy dose of pop-culture nostalgia. It builds upon the "Mission to Earthphase" model introduced in 2024, which itself was a significant step up from the original chronograph-only releases, by adding new complications. This November 2025 release is hyper-specific, tying its identity to the full moon of the month and adding yet another layer of desire for collectors who have been following the series since its explosive debut.
Omega and Swatch occupy nearly opposite ends of the watch industry's spectrum, which is precisely what made their partnership so disruptive. Omega is a cornerstone of Swiss luxury, a brand defined by its Co-Axial movements, its association with James Bond, and most importantly, its legacy as the provider of the "Moonwatch"—the Speedmaster Professional that was flight-qualified by NASA and worn on the lunar surface. Swatch, conversely, is the vibrant, accessible, and intentionally provocative brand that arguably saved the Swiss watch industry from the quartz crisis with its inexpensive, art-forward plastic watches. The idea of these two entities, both under the Swatch Group umbrella, merging their most iconic design codes was a stroke of marketing genius.

This collaboration first exploded onto the scene in 2022, creating a global frenzy that the watch world had not seen in decades. The initial Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection offered eleven models, each a tribute to a planetary body in our solar system, and all of them borrowing the exact case shape and dial layout of the iconic Omega Speedmaster. The launch resulted in unprecedented lines outside Swatch boutiques, instant sell-outs, and a secondary market that defied logic. It successfully democratized the Speedmaster's design, making it accessible to a new generation while simultaneously, and perhaps counterintuitively, reinforcing the desirability of the original luxury Omega model.
Central to the appeal of the entire series is the material: Bioceramic. This is a Swatch-patented composite that blends two-thirds zirconium dioxide, the same high-tech ceramic used in many high-end luxury watches, with one-third of a biosourced material derived from castor oil. The result is a unique substance that is more robust and scratch-resistant than Swatch's traditional plastic, yet it can be produced in a vibrant spectrum of colors that metal or standard ceramic cannot easily achieve. To the touch, it has a distinct "silky matte" finish, and it is significantly lighter than a steel watch, making the 42mm case surprisingly comfortable on the wrist.
Initially, the MoonSwatch models were colorful tributes, but the "Mission to Earthphase" introduced a genuine, new complication to the lineup. This new Beaver Moon edition continues that evolutionary path. It features a novel "earth phase" indicator, a complication that cleverly mirrors the traditional moon phase. It demonstrates how the Earth would appear from the Moon over a 29.5-day cycle. When the moon is full in our sky, the Earth as seen from the lunar surface would be new, and vice-versa. This complication adds a layer of astronomical poetry to the watch that feels perfectly aligned with the space-faring theme of the Speedmaster.
This brings us to this specific November 2025 release, which is the fourth model in a sub-series celebrating the full moons of the year. This edition is dedicated to the "Beaver Moon," the traditional name for November's full moon. The watch itself is presented in a deep, uniform navy blue Bioceramic, a color that covers the entire case, the crown, the chronograph pushers, and even the loop on the strap. This dark, cosmic blue provides a stark and dramatic backdrop for the bright, contrasting dial, immediately setting it apart from more subdued or brightly colored predecessors.

Visually, the case retains all the legendary Speedmaster hallmarks. It has the 42mm diameter, the asymmetrical twist of the right-hand lugs (a design originally intended to protect the crown and pushers), and the sharp, smooth lug construction. The deep navy blue of the Bioceramic case is not glossy but rather a soft, matte texture that absorbs light, giving it a technical, almost stealthy appearance. The entire case, from the pushers to the main body, is milled from this single-color material, creating a cohesive and modern look.
These dimensions—42.00 mm in diameter, 13.75 mm in thickness, and a 47.30 mm lug-to-lug distance—make for a watch with significant presence. While the diameter is identical to the classic Speedmaster Professional, the Bioceramic material makes it feel entirely different. It lacks the cold, heavy density of stainless steel, making it wearable for a wider varietyof wrist sizes. It feels modern, substantial, and intentionally playful, all at once.
The dial itself is a clean white opaline, a perfect canvas for the multiple complications and details. It features the OMEGA X Swatch branding, along with the classic Speedmaster and MoonSwatch logos. The subdials are recessed, adding a sense of depth and complexity, and a fine, sophisticated circular pattern rings the outer edge of the dial, just inside the minute track. This contrast between the crisp white dial and the dark navy case is a classic and highly legible color combination.
Situated at the 10 o’clock position is the watch's namesake complication, the earth phase indicator. This subdial shows a depiction of the Earth, set against a star-speckled backdrop. But hidden just beneath it is a detail that sends collectors into a frenzy: an illustration of Snoopy and Woodstock, in full space gear, lying on the surface of the Moon and gazing up at the Earth. This is a direct and loving nod to the highest honor NASA bestows on its partners.

The connection between Snoopy and Omega is one of the most cherished stories in horology. After the Apollo 1 mission fire, NASA sought a non-powered, reliable backup for its astronauts. The "Silver Snoopy Award" was created as the astronauts' own award, given to personnel or contractors for outstanding achievements in flight safety and mission success. In 1970, Omega received this award after its Speedmaster famously timed a critical 14-second engine burn on the crippled Apollo 13, allowing the crew to correct their trajectory and return safely to Earth. The inclusion of Snoopy here is not just a cute cartoon; it's a celebration of Omega's most critical real-world achievement.
Opposite the earth phase, at the 2 o’clock subdial, is the moon phase indicator. The disc itself is a sparkly dark blue, like a night sky. Upon this disc are two representations of the full moon, both coated in OMEGA’s Moonshine™ Gold. One of these moons is designed in the distinctive, simple art style of the Peanuts world, tying it back to the Snoopy theme. This element adds a tangible touch of luxury to the otherwise accessible watch.
This specific "Beaver Moon" model introduces a unique twist. The other Moonshine Gold moon on the disc is "reimagined as a beaver-bitten moon." This means the moon, rendered in that pale gold, appears to have a chunk taken out of it, complete with tiny cartoonish teeth marks. It is a whimsical, almost irreverent detail that is pure Swatch—taking a high-concept idea (the Beaver Moon) and a luxury material (Moonshine Gold) and adding a literal, playful interpretation.
Omega’s Moonshine™ Gold is a proprietary 18K gold alloy introduced by the luxury brand in 2019. It is not just standard yellow gold; it is a unique blend that includes palladium, silver, and copper. This specific recipe results in a paler, more subtle hue than traditional yellow gold and, more importantly, it was engineered to be far more resistant to fading and discoloration over time. While the moons on the MoonSwatch are coated rather than solid, the use of this specific, named material is a direct link to Omega's high-end watchmaking.

Further examination of the dial reveals more hidden secrets. The illustration of Snoopy and Woodstock includes a hidden phrase that is only visible under UV light, a feature that encourages owners to interact with their watch in a new way. Likewise, the oceans on the earth phase indicator are coated with a special UV ink that makes them glow blue under the same light. This is separate from the standard lume, which is Grade A Super-LumiNova® in a bright green emission, applied to the hour markers, the main hour and minute hands, and the tip of the chronograph seconds hand, ensuring legibility in the dark.
Protecting the dial is a box-shaped crystal, a nod to the Hesalite crystals used on vintage Speedmasters. This one is made from a biosourced material, and as with all MoonSwatches, it features a tiny, discreet "S" etched into its very center, visible only when it catches the light just right. Surrounding the crystal is the fixed navy Bioceramic bezel, which features the white tachymeter scale. In a detail cherished by Speedmaster purists, the scale includes the "dot over ninety" (DON), a small formatting quirk from pre-1970s models that is a hallmark of a vintage-correct design.
Powering this array of features is a quartz chronograph movement. This is, of course, the key to the watch's accessibility. A mechanical movement with a chronograph, moon phase, and earth phase would cost tens of thousands of dollars. The quartz engine, provided by Swatch's sister company ETA, is reliable, accurate, and allows for the slim profile. The chronograph function is limited to the central seconds hand, which is started and stopped by the pushers, with the subdial at 6 o'clock ticking away the running seconds for the regular time.
Turning the watch over reveals more storytelling. The battery cover is adorned with an Earth-inspired design, showing the continents of North and South America. The caseback itself is engraved with a series of motivational phrases that encircle the edge: "DREAM BIG," "FLY HIGHER," "EXPLORE THE UNIVERSE," and "REACH FOR THE PLANETS." In a nod to the Snoopy theme, the phrase "I BEAT EVERYBODY..." is also engraved on the caseback, a playful quote from the Peanuts universe.

This particular model is paired with a navy blue rubber strap, a practical and comfortable choice that matches the case. The strap features a VELCRO® closure, another "astronaut cool" detail that references the straps worn by Apollo astronauts over their bulky suits. The strap is secured by a matching navy Bioceramic loop, ensuring every part of the watch adheres to the unified color theme.
The final piece of the puzzle is the watch's availability and price. The Mission to Earthphase Moonshine Gold Beaver Moon is priced at $450.00. However, acquiring one is a challenge. It is not sold online. This model is available for an extremely limited window, from the Beaver Full Moon on November 5, 2025, until the New Moon on November 20, 2025. It is only sold at select Swatch stores that carry the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, and sales are restricted to one watch per person, per day, per store, ensuring that the "hunt" and the hype that defined the original launch remain very much alive.
