DescriptionThe Norqain reference NB3008B03A/LEO303, part of the Independence 40mm Hakuna Mipaka collection, presents a robust architecture centered around a 40.00mm diameter case. Constructed from 316L stainless steel, the case is further enhanced with a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, providing increased scratch resistance and a stealthy aesthetic. Case thickness measures 12.05mm, while the lug-to-lug distance spans 46.30mm, ensuring a substantial, yet wearable, presence on the wrist. The lug width is a standard 20.00mm, allowing for a variety of strap options, though it comes equipped with an integrated, velvet-feel black rubber strap. This strap features a leopard pattern, alongside the HAKUNA MIPAKA logo, secured by a stainless steel pin buckle with its own DLC coating. Attention to detail is manifested in elements, such as the screw-down crown, which features black rubber overmolding and the NORQAIN logo. Sapphire crystal is implemented, both for the watch face, where it has a double anti-reflective to minimize the glare, and at the back of the watch for the open back. The water resistance of this thing is rated at 100 meters.

The dial features a black leopard print design, a design choice realized in collaboration with wildlife ambassador Dean Schneider. Time is indicated through diamond-cut skeletonized indexes, plated in red gold and filled with white X1 Superluminova for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions. The hour, minute, and second hands share a similar red gold plating and Superluminova treatment, with the hour and minute hands exhibiting a faceted design. A date window is subtly integrated at the 3 o'clock position. The dial is completed with a red gold colored NORQAIN and HAKUNA MIPAKA logo, black inner flange. Powering the watch is the NORQAIN calibre N08, based on the Sellita SW200-1, a mechanical automatic movement that has received chronometer certification (COSC), affirming its precision. This movement contains 26 rubies and features a personalized NORQAIN oscillating weight. Fully wound, the calibre N08 offers a power reserve of 41 hours, and its balance operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz).
