Its case, meticulously crafted from titanium, measures 42 millimeters in diameter and exhibits a lug-to-lug dimension of 51 millimeters. The overall height of the watch head is 15 millimeters, resulting in a substantial, yet wearable, presence on the wrist. The titanium composition contributes to a lightweight design, with the watch head weighing 88 grams. Engineered for demanding environments, the Novonaut N-42 boasts a water resistance rating of 200 meters (600 feet, 20 atmospheres), ensured by a screw-down crown incorporating a triple gasket system. Further enhancing its durability, the watch utilizes performance FKM gaskets throughout its construction. Protection for the dial is provided by a sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides to minimize glare and maximize legibility under various lighting conditions.

The dial itself is presented in a matte black finish, creating a high-contrast backdrop for the applied Lumicast®X1 numerals. These numerals, along with the 3N gold-plated hour, minute, and counter hands, are filled with Superluminova®X1, ensuring exceptional low-light visibility with a distinctive blue glow.
