DescriptionThe Fortis Novonaut N-42 Legacy Edition, reference F2040008, presents a robust and meticulously engineered timekeeping instrument. Its case, constructed from recycled stainless steel, measures 42mm in diameter and exhibits a lug-to-lug dimension of 51mm, with a total height profile measuring 15mm. The watch head itself, separate from the bracelet, exhibits a weight of 115 grams, a testament to its substantial construction. The case incorporates a screw-down crown, fortified by a triple gasket system, ensuring water resistance to a depth of 200 meters (600 feet, 20 atmospheres). Added protection and functionality come through the inclusion of quickset pushers, managing chronograph functions. High-performance FKM gaskets are utilized throughout the design to ensure an enduring seal against environmental factors. Visual access to the dial is provided through a sapphire crystal, treated on both sides with an anti-reflective coating, significantly reducing glare and maximizing legibility under varied lighting conditions.

The dial presents a matte black surface, providing a high-contrast backdrop for the applied Lumicast®X1 numerals. These numerals, along with the metallic hour and minute hands, are imbued with Superluminova®X1, guaranteeing optimal visibility in low-light environments through its distinctive blue glow. The sweep second hand is finished in Berlac Fluor Orange and includes a Superluminova®X1 "Bull's Eye" detail for precise reading, mirrored by the Berlac Fluor Orange counter hands. The core of the Novonaut N-42 is the space-tested automatic manufacture calibre Werk 17. This movement features a column-wheel chronograph complication, along with a day-date display. It possesses a substantial power reserve of 60 hours and operates at chronometer-level accuracy. The movement is housed under a stainless steel case back with ultra-engraving.
