This construction ensures substantial integrity, further reinforced by a screw-down case back, also fabricated from stainless steel, contributing to its impressive water resistance rating of 30 atmospheres, equivalent to 300 meters or 984 feet. A screw-down crown mechanism is integral to achieving this level of hydrostatic pressure tolerance, preventing water ingress during submerged operations. Protecting the dial is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating to enhance legibility under various lighting conditions. Notably, this crystal features a domed profile, emulating the aesthetic of the original 1967 model's plexiglass crystal while offering superior modern material durability. The watch incorporates a unidirectional rotating bezel, a patented Doxa design element critical for dive safety.
