Quick TakeForget stainless steel; this Divingstar is playing a different game entirely. It's sculpted from forged carbon, feeling impossibly light on the wrist yet packing the visual punch of marbled space-age tech. That bright, almost electric yellow dial isn't just for show – it's pure DOXA Divingstar heritage, screaming visibility and optimistic energy, a perfect contrast to the dark, swirling carbon. You get that unmistakable cushion case shape, but rendered in this high-tech material, it feels less like a vintage throwback and more like a futuristic tool. Inside, the COSC-certified automatic heart beats reliably, a reminder that beneath the modern exterior lies serious Swiss watchmaking pedigree. The domed sapphire crystal adds a touch of retro charm, distorting the dial playfully at angles, while the carbon bezel clicks with satisfying precision. Strapped on with that matching yellow FKM rubber, complete with the essential dive extension clasp, it’s ready for anything from a deep dive to making a bold statement topside. It's a fusion piece – lightweight tech meets deep-sea history, all wrapped up in an unmissably vibrant package.
Description
Engineered for advanced performance, the timepiece designated 822.70.361.31 utilizes a forged carbon primary case structure measuring 42.50 millimeters in diameter and 45.00 millimeters lug-to-lug, with a total height profile of 13.40 millimeters. This construction method ensures exceptional lightness coupled with structural rigidity suitable for demanding environments. Protection for the internal mechanism is enhanced by a pressure-resistant chamber fabricated from titanium, secured via a screw-down case back, also constructed from titanium. Water ingress resistance is rated to 30 atmospheres, corresponding to a depth of 300 meters or approximately 984 feet, further assured by the implementation of a screw-down crown mechanism. The superior face of the watch incorporates a domed sapphire crystal, selected for its high scratch resistance and treated with an anti-reflective coating to maximize legibility under various lighting conditions. Surrounding the crystal is a unidirectional rotating bezel, also crafted from forged carbon, featuring dive time markings calibrated in meters, essential for underwater time management. All indicators pertinent to dive timing employ Super-LumiNova® luminescent material, guaranteeing optimal visibility in low-light aquatic conditions or darkness. The overall design merges advanced material science with functional requirements for subaquatic exploration, maintaining core Doxa dive watch principles while introducing contemporary material technology for reduced mass and a distinct aesthetic presentation.
Contained within the protective housing is a Swiss mechanical movement operating on an automatic self-winding system. This caliber has achieved COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) certification, signifying its adherence to stringent precision and reliability standards established for chronometers. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (equivalent to 4.0 Hz) and provides a power reserve autonomously maintained for approximately 38 hours when fully wound. DOXA applies specific decorative finishing to the movement components. Timekeeping indications are presented through central hour, minute, and second hands, supplemented by a date complication displayed through an aperture positioned at the 3 o'clock location on the dial. The dial itself maintains the brand's historically recognized 'iconic' layout, presented in the 'Divingstar' yellow colorway. The watch interfaces with the wearer via an FKM rubber strap, known for its durability and resistance to environmental factors, supplied in a color matching the dial. This strap secures with a folding clasp featuring a black Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating for enhanced wear resistance and aesthetic continuity. Integrated into the clasp is a ratcheting wetsuit extension system, allowing for precise adjustments to accommodate the varying thickness of dive suits. The strap connects to the case at lugs spaced 20.00 millimeters apart. GenderMen
