Quick TakeStrap this bad boy on and you're not just telling time, you're strapping on a piece of dive history, reimagined for today. The SUB 200 Professional isn't shy; its 42mm steel presence says "I mean business" but the curve of that sapphire crystal winks, "let's have some fun too." It's like that friend who's an engineer by day but a deep-sea explorer by weekend. With 200 meters of water resistance, it’ll laugh in the face of your deepest pool dive or snorkeling adventure. The automatic movement hums away like a well-oiled submarine engine, keeping you on track with a trusty 38-hour power reserve. And when the lights go down, that Super-LumiNova® doesn't just glow, it practically throws a party on your wrist, making sure you can tell the hour whether you're 100 feet under or just reaching for the bedside lamp. The "Beads of Rice" bracelet isn't just comfortable; it's a nod to an era when watches were tools, built to last and look good doing it.
Description
This timepiece, designated as reference 796.15.351.21 and first presented at the 2019 Baselworld exhibition, is engineered as a three-hand diver's instrument. The casing is constructed from high-grade 316L stainless steel, providing substantial corrosion resistance and durability. Its nominal diameter measures 42.00 mm, with a lug-to-lug dimension of 46.00 mm and a total height of 13.80 mm. Protection for the dial is afforded by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which incorporates an anti-reflective coating to ensure legibility under various lighting conditions; this crystal also features a domed profile reminiscent of historical plexiglass crystals. Water ingress protection is rated to 20 atmospheres, equivalent to a depth of 200 meters or 656 feet, a capability supported by the inclusion of a screw-down crown and a solid stainless steel screw-down case back. The watch is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel, a critical safety feature for dive time measurement, available with either a sapphire or stainless steel inlay. Precise material selection and dimensional accuracy are paramount in its construction.
Powering the SUB 200 Professional is a Swiss-made mechanical automatic movement, which is self-winding. This calibre operates with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4.0 Hz), ensuring reliable timekeeping. The movement further features decoration applied by DOXA. Time indication is provided for hours, minutes, and seconds, alongside a date display function. Legibility in low-light environments is a key attribute; consequently, all elements pertinent to dive information, including the hands, hour markers on the iconic dial, and the unidirectional rotating bezel, are treated with a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating. The primary bracelet option is fabricated from 316L stainless steel in a "Beads of Rice" style, secured with a folding clasp that incorporates a wetsuit extension and bears the Doxa fish symbol. Alternative FKM rubber straps are available, featuring a pin buckle and offered in two lengths: a standard size of 125.00 mm by 75.00 mm, and a small size of 110.00 mm by 65.00 mm, both compatible with the 19.00 mm lug width.
