• Chronoswiss

    Heritage

  • Chronoswiss was founded in Munich in 1983 by master watchmaker Gerd-Rüdiger Lang, a visionary who championed mechanical timepieces during the peak popularity of quartz watches. Believing firmly in the timeless appeal of traditional mechanics, Lang established Chronoswiss with a commitment to producing high-quality, "Swiss Made" mechanical watches. The brand quickly distinguished itself with unique design elements that became signatures, such as the fluted bezel, an oversized onion crown, and screwed lug attachments. Chronoswiss holds a significant place in horological history as the first brand to successfully miniaturize and serially produce the regulator display – where hours, minutes, and seconds are indicated on separate axes – in a wristwatch format. Now headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland, under the leadership of Oliver Ebstein, the independent company continues to innovate while honouring its roots, celebrated for its intricate dial work like guilloché and enamel, often performed in its own atelier.

The Heritage collection from Chronoswiss serves as a direct tribute to the brand's foundational designs and rich history. These timepieces intentionally draw inspiration from the iconic models and aesthetic codes established in the company's earlier decades. Watches within the Heritage line often prominently feature the classic Chronoswiss hallmarks, including the distinctive case construction with its knurled bezel, the characteristic onion crown, and the traditional regulator dial layout that Chronoswiss famously pioneered for wristwatches. Models such as the Regulator Manufacture exemplify this connection, offering a look and feel reminiscent of the brand's initial successes while incorporating contemporary watchmaking standards. The Heritage line represents Chronoswiss's enduring commitment to its legacy, celebrating the designs that first defined its unique identity in the world of modern mechanical horology.
