Kross Studio, in collaboration with Warner Brothers, has introduced a new, highly limited project dedicated to the Harry Potter universe. This new release is not just a single watch but a complete "Collector Set," strictly limited to ten pieces. The set pairs a mechanically complex watch, the Harry Potter Central Floating Tourbillon, with a functional art piece in the form of a mechanical music box that plays the iconic "Hedwig’s Theme."
Founded in 2020 by Marco Tedeschi, Kross Studio has quickly established a unique identity by creating contemporary complication watches that merge high-level watchmaking with pop culture. The brand operates its own manufacture in Switzerland, giving it complete control over design and production. This "Functional Art" concept has led to previous collaborations with major entertainment properties like Lucasfilm and DC Comics, and this Harry Potter set continues that tradition.

The core theme of the timepiece is a Quidditch match, the famous wizarding sport from the series. The watch aims to capture the intensity and motion of this game, where players from each Hogwarts house compete. The design specifically focuses on the four house seekers—Harry Potter for Gryffindor, Cho Chang for Ravenclaw, Cedric Diggory for Hufflepuff, and Draco Malfoy for Slytherin—as they pursue the Golden Snitch.
This theme is brought to life through the watch's most prominent feature: its central floating tourbillon. The entire tourbillon cage, which completes a full rotation every 60 seconds, serves as the stage for the Quidditch match. The four seekers are attached to this structure, making them appear to fly on their brooms in a continuous circle above the movement, seemingly suspended in mid-air.
Each of these four figures is a miniature sculpture in its own right. Crafted from 18-karat gold, each character measures just 2.79mm in height and 6.09mm in length. These tiny components are meticulously engraved and then painted by hand. This level of microscopic detail extends to the character's faces, their distinct house Quidditch uniforms, and even the tiny broomsticks they ride.
This entire dynamic scene is housed under a prominent, dome-shaped anti-reflective sapphire crystal. This high-domed crystal is a key part of the design, creating a deep, open space that allows the tourbillon and its orbiting figures to be viewed from multiple angles. It effectively turns the watch dial into a miniature arena, revealing the mechanical complexity and artistic detail within.

The watch case is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, chosen for its combination of strength and light weight. It measures 42mm in diameter, with a total thickness of 19.80mm including the domed crystal. Visually, the case has a modern, technical appearance with a brushed finish, featuring clean lines and lugs that contrast with the intricate, multi-layered dial scene.
One of the most distinct functional aspects of the case is its lack of a traditional crown at the 3 o'clock position. Kross Studio has instead integrated the winding and setting mechanisms into the case back. A flat "D-ring crown," also in Grade 5 titanium, sits flush with the case back and can be lifted and rotated with a finger to wind the mainspring. This system is designed to improve winder comfort, maintain the case's design symmetry, and allow for quicker winding.
To set the time, a separate "Time Set" push button is located on the edge of the case at the 3 o'clock position. This division of functions—winding on the back, setting on the side—is a hallmark of Kross Studio's movements. The case itself is rated for water resistance to 30 meters or 3 atmospheres.
At the heart of the timepiece is the Caliber KS 7’006, a hand-wound movement composed of 232 components and 27 jewels. This is a patented central floating tourbillon movement, designed, decorated, and assembled entirely by the artisans at Kross Studio’s manufacture. Its frequency is 21,600 vibrations per hour, or 3 Hz.
The architecture of the KS 7’006 is unique. All the primary functions of the watch—its winding mechanism, the energy storage, the regulation (tourbillon), and the time display—are arranged coaxially in the center. This clever design allows the mainspring barrel to be exceptionally large, occupying nearly the entire surface area of the movement.

The direct benefit of this massive barrel is an impressive power reserve of 120 hours, or five days, all from a single barrel. This design ensures that the watch maintains strong chronometric performance even as the mainspring unwinds, while the central tourbillon, balance wheel, and fixed seconds wheel are elevated above the barrel and hands, floating over the entire mechanism.
With the center of the watch occupied by the tourbillon, the time display is handled peripherally. The KS 7’006 movement uses a peripheral hour display mechanism that relies on a planetary gear system mounted on two ball bearings. This solution allows the hands to orbit around the central tourbillon, keeping the view of the main spectacle completely unobstructed.
The hands themselves are pink gold-toned and feature a coating of black Super-LumiNova® for visibility in low light. They point to a dial that is constructed in two distinct parts. The outer flange is made of 18K gold and features an opaline sandblasted finish, which holds a golden minute track.
The second part of the dial, also crafted from 18K gold, is fixed to the hour wheel and rotates with it. This section has a black-grained texture and features golden Roman numerals. Kross Studio notes that this design is a tribute to the large clock tower at Hogwarts, further connecting the watch to its source material.

The finishing on the movement components is executed in line with traditional watchmaking standards. Kross Studio points to the barrel bridge as a prime example of this craftsmanship. It features hand-beveled angles, stretched edges, perlage (circular graining) on its recesses, and Geneva stripes adorning its top surface. This level of finishing is managed by the studio's dedicated in-house decoration department.
The watch is presented on an interchangeable strap, which utilizes a patent-pending system for quick changes. The set includes two straps, and the primary one seen is a taupe-colored alligator leather strap, while the caseback view shows a black strap. The buckle is a pin buckle clasp, also made from Grade 5 titanium to match the case.
The second major component of the 10-piece set is the mechanical music box. Kross Studio collaborated with the renowned manufacturer REUGE to create this piece. It is a substantial, fully mechanical object designed to play three parts of the "Hedwig’s Theme" melody.
The music box is powered by a mechanical movement that produces sound by plucking the blades of a 72-note clavier (comb). The large brass cylinder contains over 1,200 pins, each precisely placed to strike the correct note in sequence. The mechanism provides approximately seven minutes of playtime and features a push-button to release the lever and play each melody.
Each music box movement is assembled by hand, making every one of the ten pieces unique. The main body of the music box is crafted from heat-treated ash and solid walnut, given an oiled wood finish that reveals the grain. The mechanism and nameplate are brass. This art piece is substantial, measuring 25cm in diameter and weighing approximately 4kg.
