Quick TakeTalk about a watch that refuses to be pigeonholed! The DOXA SUB 300 Beta Professional struts onto the scene with the swagger of a seasoned diver but cleans up nicely for a night downtown. It keeps the tough-as-nails DNA DOXA is famous for – 300 meters water resistance, a helium escape valve just in case your adventures get really deep, and that unmistakable unidirectional ceramic bezel – but wraps it in a sleeker, more refined package. The 42.5mm case sits surprisingly slim at under 12mm thick, making it slide under a cuff almost as easily as it deflects a rogue wave. And that dial? A gorgeous sunray finish with subtle waves stamped right in, catching the light whether you're surfacing from a dive or stepping out of a cab. Paired with the choice of the classic 'beads of rice' bracelet or a comfy FKM rubber strap, both with that handy ratcheting clasp, it’s a chameleon that’s as ready for exploration as it is for espresso. It’s the tool watch that learned some manners, but thankfully, didn't forget its roots.
DescriptionThe timekeeping instrument designated as reference 830.10.351.10 features a case constructed from stainless steel, exhibiting dimensions of 42.50 mm in diameter and 44.50 mm lug-to-lug. Vertical case height measures 11.95 mm, representing a reduced profile compared to legacy models. Water integrity is rated to 30 atmospheres, equivalent to 300 meters or 984 feet, ensured partially by a screw-down crown mechanism and a solid stainless steel screw-down case back. Protecting the dial aperture is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Time-setting and winding operations are managed via the aforementioned screw-down crown. A unidirectional rotating bezel, fabricated from black ceramic with markings calibrated in meters for dive timing, is integrated into the case assembly. The design incorporates a helium release valve, a feature primarily beneficial for saturation diving applications.
Powering the SUB 300 Beta Professional is a Swiss mechanical movement featuring automatic self-winding capabilities. The power reserve provided by the mainspring is approximately 38 hours when fully wound. This calibre operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4.0 Hz), contributing to the smooth sweep of the seconds hand. The movement components receive decorative finishing as executed by DOXA. Time indication is provided through central hour, minute, and second hands. A date complication is also included, displayed via an aperture on the dial. The dial itself presents a sunray finish overlaid with a stamped wave structure pattern. Attachment to the wrist is facilitated by either a stainless steel "Beads of Rice" bracelet or an FKM rubber strap, both options featuring a 20.00 mm lug width. Secure fastening is achieved through a folding clasp system incorporating a ratcheting wetsuit extension for micro-adjustments.
