    Pulse

  • The "Pulse" designation within the Chronoswiss collection represents a dynamic facet of the brand's evolution, connecting historical watch functions with contemporary design directions. Historically, watches bearing names related to "Pulse" or designated as "Doctor's Watches" often featured a pulsometer scale, typically integrated with a chronograph function, allowing medical professionals to easily measure a patient's heart rate. While Chronoswiss has explored various complications throughout its history, including chronographs like the Opus Skeleton Chronograph which sometimes incorporated such scales, the most recent and prominent use of the name marks a distinct shift. Launched in 2025, the "Pulse One" collection pioneers a new era for Chronoswiss, embodying a sportier, bolder aesthetic. Crafted from Grade 5 titanium, the 41mm Pulse One features a novel integrated titanium bracelet and a case design that, while sleeker and more modern with integrated crown guards, retains core Chronoswiss DNA like the signature onion crown and a partially knurled bezel. Rather than a traditional pulsometer, the Pulse One showcases the brand's iconic regulator display in a three-dimensional format, uniquely incorporating a retrograde 30-second display ('ReSec') at 6 o'clock, powered by the Chronoswiss Manufacture Calibre C. 6001. This limited-edition line signifies a bold step, blending the brand's mechanical expertise with a modern, integrated sports watch design language, aptly representing the energy and forward momentum implied by its name.

Chronoswiss stands as a distinctive figure in the Swiss watchmaking landscape, celebrated for its unwavering dedication to mechanical horology and its unique design identity. The company was established not in Switzerland, but in Munich, Germany, in 1983 by the visionary master watchmaker Gerd-Rüdiger Lang. Lang bravely founded Chronoswiss during the height of the quartz crisis, driven by a passion for traditional mechanics and a belief in their enduring appeal. He significantly contributed to the renaissance of mechanical watches, notably by being the first to serially produce wristwatches with a regulator dial layout – separating hours, minutes, and seconds onto different axes – and by championing the use of sapphire crystal display case backs to showcase the intricate movements. Signature design elements established early on, such as the distinctive oversized onion crown, knurled bezels, and robust screwed strap lugs, remain hallmarks of the brand today. In 2012, Chronoswiss was acquired by the Swiss entrepreneurial couple Oliver and Eva Ebstein, who relocated the headquarters and atelier to Lucerne, Switzerland, reinforcing its Swiss-made credentials. Under their leadership, Chronoswiss embraces the philosophy of "Modern Mechanical," expertly blending time-honored artisanal crafts like hand-guilloché, skeletonization, and enameling – often showcased in their accessible Lucerne atelier – with innovative, frequently three-dimensional and avant-garde designs, ensuring the brand remains a unique and independent voice in contemporary watchmaking.
